10 Ball League Rules
Rules of Play
Alternate Break. Rack your own. Race to 9.
If you scratch on the break it is ball in hand anywhere on the table.
If you make the 10 ball on the break it is Not a win, the 10 ball gets spotted.
A legal shot is where the object ball is hit first and the cue ball or another ball hits a rail.
THE RACK: The 1 ball must be at the Front of the rack and the 10 ball in the center of the rack with the 2 and 3 balls on the other corners.
LEGAL BREAK SHOT
For the break shot to be legal, the breaker (with the complete cue ball placed anywhere behind the head string) must either pocket an object ball or drive at least three (3) object balls to one or more rails. If the breaker fails to make the legal break requirement, the balls will be re-racked and the opponent shall have the option of breaking, or requesting the offending player to break again.
PLAYING A SAFETY: 1- You must call a safety. 2- When playing a safety you must hit the object ball first, if you pocket a ball the incoming player has the option to play the shot or return the shot. If you play a safety and it is a legal shot and no ball is pocketed the incoming player must play the shot as it lays.
The 3 foul rule is in effect. (3 consecutive fouls is a loss of the game.)
All shots are to be called. (What pocket in which you intend to make the object ball). As long as the ball is pocketed in the pocket called it is a good shot. If another ball is also pocketed that ball stays down.
If playing a combination, the object ball must be hit first and the ball to be pocketed must be called in the intended pocket.
If you think it is going to be a close hit call someone that both players agree on to watch the hit. If nobody watches the hit and the two players cannot agree then the call goes to the shooter.
Cue ball fouls only. Exception is if you move a ball and the cue ball or another ball would have impacted that ball or if it crosses the path of a moving ball it is a foul. If a ball is moved and not a foul it is up to your opponent whether to move the ball back as close as possible to its original spot.
Any ball off the table is a foul and that ball is pocketed and its ball in hand for your opponent.
Any other issues will be handled as best as possible when they occur.
